Journeying into AI with Tableau
About the Session
Are you an experienced Tableau user at work? You're familiar with the process of creating dashboards but you are falling behind with the technology. When did you last get a proper afternoon to figure out what AI is actually doing to your job?
When did you last sit down and properly work out how the AI features in Tableau, or the AI tools your stakeholders are starting to use, are going to change what you build and how you deliver it?
The way stakeholders want to consume data is shifting. And the gap between "I understand this" and "I'm just hoping it doesn't affect me" is getting wider every month. We're doing the learning on your behalf and this talk will take you several starting steps into this journey. We'll also share with you how you can continue on this journey with us in the future.
About the Speakers
Neil Richards
Neil Richards is an experienced speaker, blogger, author and trainer - a Tableau Hall of Fame Visionary with many years' experience working in BI analyst roles before specialising in Data Storytelling and Data and AI Fluency roles. He brings this experience working with both creators and consumers of data stories and dashboards into his freelance data Consultancy, offering expertise on data visualisation and data fluency. He is also passionate about creative and unconventional data visualisation, as detailed in his published book "Questions in Dataviz"
Steve Adams
Steve Adams has spent over 30 years in business, starting out as a trainee accountant at KPMG before finding his way to data and, eventually, Tableau. For the past decade he's been training corporate teams to build dashboards that actually get used. He holds the Tableau Ambassador title for the third consecutive year and co-leads the UK Healthcare Tableau User Group.
He's not an AI expert. He'll tell you that himself. What he is - alongside co-presenter Neil Richards - is an experienced Tableau practitioner who decided to stop hoping AI wouldn't affect his job and start working out what it actually means. Together they are the grAI Team and they run The Insights Collective, a community for data professionals who want to keep pace with a world that isn't standing still.
