From tracking what we can, to tracking what matters

What happens when a young SaaS product team gets their own dedicated Data Scientist? How do you start out and what can you do when you realize that the main obstacles and constraints are very different from what you expected? The capacity for quick delivery of analyses and charts on its own does not turn magically into clear and useful insights for the Product Manager and their team. However, once a team starts to see data as an ally and has the right metrics they can better influence plans and transform discussions. But how do you bridge this gap?

In this talk both sides (PM and DS) get to tell their own story, revisit together the stages and how the collaboration between Product and Data progressed. We will share our most important learnings and challenges we gathered during this 18 months journey at Shapr3D.
